Description

The Erne prospect is located on Block 21/29d in the UK sector of the North Sea. Antrim operates the block.

A discovery was made in the Erne exploratory well, 21/29d-11. The well reached a total depth of 5,562 feet (1,695 meters), encountering a gross hydrocarbon column in excess of 50 feet (15 meters) in the Eocene Upper Tay sandstone. This includes 20 feet (6 meters) of net oil pay and 10 feet (3 meters) of net gas pay, with average porosity exceeding 30 percent, and average hydrocarbon saturation of about 80 percent.

The operator will now drill a sidetrack well from the pilot hole to further delineate the reservoir.

Antrim Sidetracks Erne Discovery
Date: Dec. 2011
Type: Appraisal Operations
Antrim Energy announced that the Erne discovery well sidetrack, 21/29d-11Z, encountered about 24 feet (7 meters) of net oil pay and 14 feet (4 meters) of net gas pay in a high-quality sandstone reservoir. Initial interpretation is that the well has penetrated a separate accumulation from that in the 21/29d-11 discovery well, but further work is necessary to confirm this, stated the operator. The 21/29d-11Z well will now be suspended for potential future re-entry and use in the development of the Erne discovery. The 21/29d-11Z well was designed to appraise the Erne oil discovery in the Eocene Tay formation, and was drilled up-dip of the discovery location to a total depth of 5,124 feet (1,562 meters). Erne is located in Block 21/29d in the UK sector of the North Sea. Antrim Energy operates Block 21/29d.
Antrim Hits Pay in Erne Well
Date: Dec. 2011
Type: New Discovery
Antrim Energy has made a discovery in the Erne exploratory well, 21/29d-11, in the UK sector of the North Sea. Erne is located in Block 21/29d in the UK sector of the North Sea. Antrim Energy operates Block 21/29d.
Antrim Spuds Erne Prospect
Date: Nov. 2011
Type: Drilling Operations
Antrim Energy has commenced drilling operations at the Erne prospect in the UK sector of the North Sea. Erne is considered an Eocene Tay formation oil prospect that is flanked by Fyne and Northwest Guillemot fields. The well has a drilling depth of about 6,000 feet (1,829 meters). The well will not be tested; however, the partners may elect to drill a sidetrack following an assessment of the initial drilling results. Drilling operations, being performed by the WilPhoenix (MW semisub), should take up to 23 days. Once drilling operations are completed, the rig will move to the Carra exploration prospect in Block 21/28b. Antrim Energy operates Block 21/29d.
Premier Grabs a Stake in Block 21/29d
Date: Jul. 2011
Type: Acreage Acquisition
Premier has signed a Heads of Agreement with Antrim Energy to acquire additional acreage in the Greater Fyne Area. Under the HOA, Premier will receive a 50% working interest in the acreage, 21/29d, in return for funding a promoted share of the costs to drill a well on the Erne prospect, which is planned for the third quarter 2011. Erne is targeting an Eocene Tay formation oil prospect located between the Fyne and Guillemot NW fields in the UK sector of the North Sea. Antrim Energy operates Block 21/29d.
Antrim Contracts Survey Vessel for its UK North Sea Drilling Program
Date: Apr. 2011
Type: Status Update
Antrim Energy has contracted the survey vessel Kommander Jack to obtain site surveys in preparation for the 2011 UK North Sea drilling program. Surveys will be obtained over the West Teal, Carra and Erne prospects, located in the Greater Fyne Area in Blocks 21/24b, 21/28b and 21/29d. According to Antrim, the West Teal and Carra surveys are expected to confirm the surface drilling locations for two wells targeting the Jurassic Fulmar and Eocene Tay formations, respectively. The Erne survey was added to the exploration program to identify a surface location for a contingent well on that feature, an oil prospect in the Eocene Tay formation. The site surveys should be completed in May in preparation for the exploratory drilling program scheduled to start mid-year 2011. The three prospects are wholly owned and operated by Antrim Energy.
