Project Description
The Tartan field is located in Blocks 15/16a and 14/20a of the UK sector of the North Sea in 453 feet (138 meters) of water. Talisman Energy wholly owns and operates the field.

Field Development

The field was developed by five production and two wells connecting to a four-legged steel jacket supporting process, utilities drilling and accommodation modules via a module support frame. The jacket is fixed to the seabed by an array of 28 piles, which was installed in 1979.

First production from the field was achieved in January 1981.

Satellite Fields

Several fields are subsea tied-back to the Tartan platform. The Highlander field was developed as a subsea tie-back to the platform in 1985 followed by the Petronella field in 1986 (Block 14/20bF-1).

Oil and gas from the Galley field were tied into Tartan in 1998 and then reconfigured as a full subsea tie-back in 2007. The Duart field was developed as a subsea tie-back, also in 2007, while Tartan North Terrace was subsea tied-back to the platform in 2004.

Status Updates
Duart Remains Shut-In
Type: Status Update

Sep. 2012 - The Duart field was shut in on 26 July due to a process shutdown on the host Tartan platform and remains shut-in. Bridge received notification from the operator of the Duart field that, while they are working to find solutions to accelerate the availability of the Tartan platform, Duart production is expected to restart in October 2013. Bridge holds a 50% working interest in the Duart field. Bridge will not be exposed to operating costs whilst Duart production is shut-in.

Duart Field Remains Shut-In
Type: Status Update

Aug. 2012 - Talisman Energy stated that the Duart field, which was shut-in on July 26 due to a process shutdown on the host Tartan platform, remains shut-in to date. During the shut-in period, additional technical issues have come to light which are preventing the restart of gas processing on the Tartan platform. The gas process is required to support Duart production. The operator will continue to close the field until these problems are resolved. Talisman indicates that the earliest restart date is December 2012.

Duart Resumes Production
Type: Production Start

Apr. 2012 - Bridge Energy has restarted production at the Duart field, which has been shut-in since Oct. 5, 2011 as a result of planned maintenance activity on the host Tartan platform. The extended shutdown on the Tartan platform has enabled completion of a more comprehensive maintenance work scope which should increase the near term uptime of the facility.

Operations at North Sea Tartan Platform to Restart Soon
Type: Status Update

Mar. 2012 - Bridge Energy reported that the Tartan and Duart field operator, Talisman, is working to restart operations on the Tartan platform and projects production to restart at the end of March. The extended shutdown on Tartan has enabled completion of a comprehensive work scope which should increase the near term uptime of the facility, said Bridge. The increased host uptime and a period of flush production following the long shut down is expected to partly offset the delayed production volumes.

Duart Field Shut-In
Type: Status Update

Jan. 2012 - Bridge Energy stated that the Duart field is currently shut-in with production expected to restart in mid-March. The satellite field is located on UK Block 14/20 in the North Sea about 116 miles (186 kilometers) northeast of Aberdeen, Scotland.

Duart Field Shut Down for Platform Maintenance
Type: Development Activity

Oct. 2011 - Bridge Energy reported the planned maintenance shutdown commenced on the Tartan platform, which is the Duart field host platform. The field operator, Talisman, is also performing safety-related upgrades at Tartan. Production re-start is expected in mid-March 2012. The daily production from the Duart field prior to the shutdown was around 1500 bbl/d (gross) of oil at 75% watercut.
