Project Description
The Allegheny field is located in the Gulf of Mexico, south of New Orleans, La. on Green Canyon Block 254. The water depth of the field is 3,246 feet (989 meters) and has the capacity to produce 27,500 bopd and 45 MMcf/d (1.27 MMcm/d).

The field is operated by Eni, which holds a 60% interest; and partners on the field with Newfield, which holds the remaining 40% interest.

Field Development

J. Ray McDermott, Inc. was awarded the EPCI contract March 1998 and completed the project August 1999. J. Ray managed the design and procured the subsea equipment packages, which includes five subsea production trees and two riser-end manifolds (REM) with associated controls, umbilical, connectors, risers and titanium tapered stress joints. There are three miles (5 kilometers) of 12-inch gas export pipelines and 1.7 miles (2.7 kilometers) of 12-inch silicon-controlled-rectifiers (SCR).

Allegheny has five wells spanned across two well centers -- one is situated north-northwest of the platform and the other is south-southwest.

Allegheny SeaStar TLP

Owned 100% by Eni, the mini-TLP contains process equipment and serves as the control center, and has two 12-inch SCRs exporting processed oil and gas. The Allegheny TLP is located in the Gulf of Mexico, south of New Orleans, La. on Green Canyon Block 254 in a water depth of 3,297 feet (1,005 meters.)

The production start date of Allegheny was the latter part of 1999. The key participants involved in Allegheny were Mentor Subsea Technology Services, which provided subsea & riser systems; Oceaneering, which provided umbilical and jumper installation; John E. Chance & Associates, which provided the survey; Cameron, which provided trees, REM¡¦s & Controls; Oil States/Hydrotech, which provided connections; and RMI Titanium, which provided stress joints.

The fields producing to Allegheny TLP are Allegheny, Allegheny South, King Kong and Yosemite.

Status Updates
Eni Starts Up Production from Pegasus Field in Gulf of Mexico
Type: Production Start

Dec. 2008 - Eni has started production from the Pegasus field located in Green Canyon Area, Block 385, offshore Gulf of Mexico, approximately 110 miles southeast of New Orleans. The Pegasus field has been developed as a tie back to the Eni operated Allegheny Tension Leg Platform using Diamond Offshore's Ocean Quest semisub.

Ike Moved the Transocean Marianas off Yosemite
Type: Status Update

Sep. 2008 - A satellite-tracking system used to monitor offshore drilling rigs’ locations indicates that Hurricane Ike moved the moored semisubmersible rig Transocean Marianas approximately 2 miles to the north of its location on Green Canyon 816, Yosemite field before the storm, where it appears to have stopped significant movement at this time. Personnel were flown over the rig today to confirm the satellite-tracking report and to visually inspect the rig for any damage from the air. We plan to send personnel to board the rig, tomorrow, for further inspections and will provide an update after the facts are fully known.

On Yosemite Field, Transocean Marianas Suffered Minor Damage from Gustav
Type: Status Update

Sep. 2008 - The Transocean Marianas, a fourth generation semisub rated for work in 7,000 feet of water, sustained only minor damage and has been fully evacuated as a precaution ahead of Hurricane Ike. The Transocean Marianas is located on the Yosemite field, Green Canyon 516. The rig will not need to go into the shipyard for repairs and will remain on location at Yosemite while repairs are made.

Delmar Installs OMNI-Max Anchors at GOM's Pegasus
Type: Status Update

Jul. 2008 - Delmar Systems, Inc. successfully installed the first rig set of eight gravity-installed vertical load anchors (VLAs) in the Gulf of Mexico. The patented OMNI-Max anchors were installed at Eni's Green Canyon 385 (Pegasus) location in June 2008 in approximately 3600' water depth.

Initial Completion Work Started at Pegasus
Type: Operator Update

Jul. 2008 - The Transocean Ameriante has started completion operations on the GC385 #1 well. GC385 will be developed with one subsea well tied back to the Allegheny host platform. The well will be completed with a horizontal subsea tree and connected to a PLET via a flexible type jumper.

Eni Makes Deepwater Gulf of Mexico Oil Discovery
Type: New Discovery

Jan. 2005 - Eni has made a new oil discovery in Deepwater Gulf of Mexico, from the Allegheny South exploration well located 260 kilometers south of New Orleans in Green Canyon Block 298. Allegheny South was drilled to a total depth of 4,870 meters in 1,000 meters of water. The wel was drilled by Diamond Offshore semisub, Ocean Valiant.

ENI Begins Production from King Kong and Yosemite Projects
Type: Production Start

Mar. 2002 - The King Kong and Yosemite projects started production at approximately 120 million cubic feet of natural gas per day with the target to reach 150 million per day. Both projects are located in the Green Canyon area, are being developed by three subsea wells in 3,838 feet of water and connected to Agip Petroleum's Allegheny platform, approximately 15 miles away.

ENI Begins Production from Yosemite Project
Type: Production Start

Mar. 2002 - Eni announced that the King Kong and Yosemite projects in the Gulf of Mexico started production at approximately 120 million cubic feet of natural gas per day with the target to reach 150 million per day. Both projects are located in the Green Canyon area, are being developed by three subsea wells in 3,838 feet of water and connected to Agip Petroleum's Allegheny platform, approximately 15 miles away.

Mariner And Eni Make Deepwater Discovery
Type: New Discovery

Jul. 2001 - Mariner Energy announced a discovery at the Yosemite prospect in Green Canyon Block 516, located in the Deepwater Gulf of Mexico approximately 150 miles southeast of New Orleans. The discovery well was drilled by Transocean Sedco Forex’s drill ship, Deepwater Millenium in 3,900 feet of water to a total depth of 11,745 feet and encountered multiple hydrocarbon bearing zones. The well was temporarily suspended.
