Dec. 2012 - Production has commenced from Jubilee Phase 1A offshore Ghana. The first production well is onstream and has helped bring total field production to over 90,000 bopd. Phase 1A consists of five production wells, three injection wells and general expansion of the existing subsea infrastructure and should take 18 months to complete. A second Phase 1A well is expected to be brought into production before the end of the year but the Sedco Energy (DW semisub) must first perform remedial work on some of the Phase 1 wells.

Apr. 2012 - Tullow reported that production from Jubilee in 2011 was lower than anticipated; however, this is being remediated through the installation of newly designed well completion equipment. The operator anticipates that the issue will be resolved this year allowing the field to achieve plateau production in 2013. Production will also be supported by Jubilee Phase 1A, which will include a total of eight additional wells. Phase 1A operations are expected to take around 18 months to complete at an estimated cost of $1.1 billion.

Feb. 2012 - Kosmos Energy has exercised a right under the existing Joint Operating Agreement to acquire a participating interest of Sabre Oil & Gas Holdings Limited in the Deepwater Tano Block offshore Ghana. The purchase price is estimated to be approximately $365 million, with up to an additional $45 million contingent upon achieving certain performance milestones. Following closing of the acquisition, Kosmos' interest in the Deepwater Tano Block will increase from 18 percent to 22.05 percent. Kosmos' interest in the Jubilee field will increase from 24.1 percent to 25.8 percent.

Feb. 2012 - Technip received two contracts by Tullow Ghana for Phase 1A of development on Tullow's Jubilee project. The awarded contracts cover full project management, engineering, fabrication and installation of a new flexible riser, two rigid flowlines and 11 spools/jumpers, as well as the installation of two manifolds and 3.1 miles (five kilometers) of umbilicals. Offshore installation is scheduled to occur in the second half of 2012.

Feb. 2012 - Aker Solutions has signed an agreement with Tullow for the provision of well intervention services for Tullow's Jubilee and Tano deepwater fields offshore Ghana. The initial contract period is for three years, with two additional one-year options. Under the agreement, Aker will provide slickline and colied tubing services, which are conducted with the objective of maximizing production of oil and gas.

Jan. 2012 - Tullow Oil reported that Jubilee's Phase 1A of development has been approved by the Government of Ghana, and drilling is expected to commence in March 2012. The operator will use the Sedco Energy (DW semisub) to perform the drilling operations. This phase of development consists of drilling eight new wells (five producers and three additional water injectors) and expanding the existing subsea network. The company will increase its interest by 3.5% to 26.4% and increase the group's interest in the Jubilee field, which Tullow operates, by 1.75% to 36.5%. May. 2011 - Tullow Oil has conditionally agreed to acquire the interests of EO Group Limited, consisting of its entire interests offshore Ghana, for US $305 million in cash and shares. This acquisition will increase Tullow's interest in the West Cape Three Points license offshore Ghana by 3.5% to 26.4% and increase the group's interest in the Jubilee oil field, which Tullow operates, by 1.75% to 36.5%. Oct. 2010 - Ghana National Petroleum awarded Technip a lump-sum contract for a flowline installation for phase 1 of the Natural Gas Transportation and Processing project. The scope of work includes engineering, welding and installation of a 9-mile-long (14-kilometer-long) rigid steel flowline, as well as the engineering, fabrication and installation of one pipeline end termination (PLET). The flowline will compose the deepwater section of a pipeline that will transport natural gas from the Jubilee field to the future onshore processing plant. Installation operations should commence at the end of 2010. Jun. 2010 - Tullow Oil completed appraisal drilling in the southeast area of the Jubilee field. Gathered data from the Mahogany-5 appraisal well indicate it penetrated a total net oil pay of 75 feet (23 meters) in sandstone reservoirs over a gross interval of 167 feet (51 meters). Reservoir fluid samples recovered 28 to 32 degree API oil, while pressure data confirms reservoir communication with the previously drilled Mahogany-4 well. Drilled by the Atwood Hunter semisub, the well reached a total depth of 13,084 feet (3,988 meters) in a water depth of 3,770 feet (1,149 meters). The rig will now leave Ghana but will return in the fourth quarter of 2010 to begin a nine-month drilling program in the West Cape Three Points license. Future exploratory drilling aims to discover additional hydrocarbons to further enhance the commercial development of the area, reported the operator. May. 2010 - The Kwame Nkrumah MV21 FPSO, which was converted by Sembcorp Marine's subsidiary Jurong Shipyard for MODEC, is on track for its assignment in Phase I of development on the Jubilee field. The FPSO will leave the shipyard in the next couple of days and will begin its 20-year assignment on the field. The Kwame Nkrumah MV21 FPSO is capable of processing 120,000 bopd and 160 MMcf/d of gas, with a storage capacity of 1.6 million barrels of oil and a water injection rate of 230,000 barrels of water per day. The conversion of the FPSO, equipped with the biggest turret ever constructed, encompassed detailed engineering, installation and integration of 17 modules, including a water treatment plant, crude separation plant, chemical injection plant, gas process and injection plant, the turret, electricity generation plant and a 120-room accommodation facility. Mar. 2010 - Weatherford Pipeline and Specialty Services Group received a contract to perform pre-commissioning and commissioning services on the Jubilee field. Nov. 2009 - In its Interim Management Statement issued this morning, Tullow confirmed that the Jubilee development drilling and facilities fabrication are on schedule to commence production from the massive oil field in the fourth quarter of 2010. Tullow further reported that Jubilee's appraisal program began in September with the drilling of the Mahogany-4 well. The successful appraisal program further extended the field eastwards, encountering Jubilee reservoir sands and additional underlying oil reservoirs.

Oct. 2009 - Tullow announced production from the massive Jubilee oil field is expected to commence in just over a year. An official related to the project said production is 368 days away, but declined to mention the expected production flow of the field. The Jubilee field is one of West Africa's biggest oil finds in recent years. The oil and gas field is estimated to contain recoverable reserves in the amount of 1.2 Bboe.

Oct. 2009 - According to Bloomberg, BP may make a bid for Kosmos Energy LLC's stake in the Jubilee offshore development and has already tapped Goldman Sachs Group Inc. as its advisor. Citing people familiar with the matter, Bloomberg reported that the second-largest oil company in Europe has held talks with Ghana National Petroleum Corp. concerning a joint bid for Kosmos' interest in Jubilee, although plans have not been confirmed at this time. Oct. 2009 - Tullow awarded Technip two lump sum contracts for the development of the Jubilee oil field, located off the coast of Ghana at water depths ranging between 3,937 and 5,577 feet (1,200 and 1,700 meters). The first contract comprises the engineering and fabrication of seven 10-inch-diameter and two 8-inch-diameter risers for a total length of more than 17 miles (27 kilometers). Delivery is scheduled for the beginning of 2010. The second contract covers engineering, fabrication and installation of approximately 30 miles (48 kilometers) of production, gas and water injection rigid flowlines; installation of 16 miles (26 kilometers) of umbilicals, nine flexible risers (supplied by Technip under the first contract) and subsea manifold and riser base structures; connection of the flowlines to the wellheads and subsea manifolds; and testing of the entire system.

Oct. 2009 - Tullow announced that the Mahogany-4 appraisal well has successfully encountered 141 feet (43 meters) of net pay and the South Grand Lahou-1 well encountered the targeted reservoir sands on prognosis but found them water-bearing at that location. The Mahogany-4 appraisal well, located in the West Cape Three Points license offshore Ghana, has intersected light oil columns in sandstone reservoirs. In total, 141 feet (43 meters) of net hydrocarbon pay was penetrated. Mahogany-4 is the eastern-most well on the Jubilee field to date and has been drilled to evaluate its lateral extent and to explore deeper potential reservoir targets.

Oct. 2009 - ExxonMobil has agreed to buy a $4 billion stake in the Jubilee development off the coast of Ghana, according to people involved in the deal. The deal is Exxon's first major purchase in a decade and appears to highlight that the company believes oil prices will rise over the long term. Some energy analysts have asserted that weak demand for the fuel can't support even the current price of $70 a barrel. People briefed on the deal said that while the parties have reached a binding agreement, the deal hasn't yet been completed and is therefore subject to change. One outstanding issue is that the Ghanaian national oil company has the right to increase its stake, according to a person involved in the transaction.

Oct. 2009 - Oando was selected as a Strategic Partner to the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation to develop assets and infrastructure to harness the gas that will be produced from the offshore Jubilee oil field. Jubilee is rated as West Africa's current largest offshore deepwater discovery in over a decade, with proven reserves in excess of 300 million barrels of recoverable oil and a potential for 1.8 billion barrels. The scope of the project includes the development of offshore and onshore high pressure gas transmission pipelines, Processing Facility, Liquefied Petroleum Gas and Condensate storage tanks, as well as other ancillary structures. The US $1 billion ultra-modern facility is planned to commence operations in the near future.

Aug. 2009 - Gibson Applied Technology & Engineering was selected by the Jubilee Field Unit Partners to conducted an integrated water injection system review to ensure that the Jubilee topsides, subsea, and downhole water injection system design represents a fit for purpose package that fulfills the reservoir requirements and equipment performance criteria. The Jubilee field is one of West Africa's biggest oil finds in recent years.

Aug. 2009 - Subsea 7, through its i-Tech division, announced a $20 million award by Tullow Ghana Ltd (Tullow) for the provision of ROV services onboard a Client provided vessel to support production from the Jubilee field offshore Ghana in water depths of up to 4,593 feet (1,400 meters). The initial contract term is five years, with two one year options, with offshore works scheduled to commence quarter two 2010. For this contract, i-Tech will provide a newbuild 150hp Centurion QX work-class ROV system.

Aug. 2009 - Jurong Shipyard secured a $160 million contract to convert the Very Large Crude Carrier tanker, the Ohdoh, to an FPSO (to be renamed FPSO Kwame Nkrumah MV21) for MODEC Offshore Production Systems. The conversion contract involves the conversion of the oil tanker to an FPSO that includes detailed engineering, installation and integration of 18 topside modules, installation of external turret and power generation, accommodation upgrading, as well as extensive piping and electrical cabling works. The FPSO Kwame Nkrumah MV21, which is part of the Tullow Ghana Ltd Phase 1 development plan, is due for delivery in 1Q 2010 and will be installed in approximately 3,609 feet (1,100 meters) of water on the Jubilee field offshore Ghana.

Jul. 2009 - Ghana quietly signed a long-awaited development plan for one of the biggest oil discoveries in West Africa in the past decade. The agreement -- reached July 15 with a group of international oil companies after months of negotiations -- brings Ghana much closer to its stated goal of producing oil by the second half of 2010. In 2007, a joint venture backed partly by two American oil companies discovered significant oil deposits off the coast of southwestern Ghana. The Jubilee field is estimated to hold at least 650 million barrels of recoverable oil, with estimates going as high as two billion barrels of oil.

Jul. 2009 - Expro is establishing a new base in Ghana following the award of a multi-million dollar contract to deliver subsea, well test and data acquisition services for Tullow on the Jubilee Phase 1 Development field, which is the country's first deepwater development. Expro is the current incumbent for Tullow's exploration and testing work. On the back of this success, Expro has been awarded the Jubilee Phase 1 subsea and intervention work for 30 months. Expro will deliver a subsea deepwater intervention completion landing string, using electro-hydraulic technology, which will operate from a fifth-generation dynamic positioning rig.

Jul. 2009 - According to Dow Jones News wires, private equity backed Kosmos Energy is reportedly proceeding with plans to sell its stake in the large Jubilee oil field offshore Ghana despite securing $750 million in loans Tuesday to fund development. Jubilee, with resources of around 1.2 billion barrels of oil equivalent, could be the first of a number of discoveries that make the waters of Ghana and Ivory Coast a significant new oil province. Jubilee's operator, Tullow, plans to produce first oil in the second half of 2010.

Jul. 2009 - Tullow announced that on July 13, 2009, the Minister of Energy in Ghana formally approved the Jubilee field Phase 1 Development Plan and Unitization Agreement on behalf of the Government of Ghana. The Jubilee field will be developed via an FPSO, and will deliver a plateau oil rate of 120,000 bopd, water injection capacity of 230,000 bwpd and gas export and injection capacity of up to 160 MMcf/d. The phase-one development plan calls for up to 17 wells to be developed, which includes nine oil producers, five water injection wells and three gas injection wells. The field is expected to commence production in the second half of 2010.

Jul. 2009 - First Subsea received a contract to supply the mooring connectors for the first FPSO to be installed in the Jubilee field, offshore Ghana. Moored in 3,609 feet (1,100 meters) of water, the external turret-moored FPSO will begin production in 2010. First Subsea is supplying nine Ballgrab ball and taper connectors, with a minimum breaking load of 5,364kN, for the external turret's mooring lines. When the FPSO is in position, the male connector, attached to the mooring line, is lowered from the surface into the female receptacle to complete the mooring installation. The Jubilee field is one of the largest oil fields discovered offshore West Africa in the past 10 years.

Jun. 2009 - FMC Technologies will support the Jubilee Integrated Project Team with the design and manufacture of subsea production systems for use in the Jubilee deepwater development. The Jubilee development is located in approximately 4,000 to 5,100 feet (1,200 - 1,500 meters) of water offshore Ghana, Africa. FMC's scope of supply will include 19 enhanced horizontal subsea trees, 5 production manifolds, 3 injection manifolds, a pair of riser bases and associated control systems for the project.

Jan. 2009 - Anadarko Petroleum announced successful drillstem test at the Hyedua-2 appraisal well in the deepwater Jubilee field offshore Ghana. The well flowed at a stable rate of 61,750 barrels of 37-degree API gravity crude oil and approximately 21 mmcf per day of associated natural gas from a single zone.

Jan. 2009 - Tullow announced that the Mahogany-3 well located in the West Cape Three Points license offshore Ghana has intersected significant light oil columns in both the Jubilee field appraisal objective and also a deeper exploration target. In total, 33 meters of net pay have been penetrated.

Jul. 2008 - Tullow Oil plc has announced results of a second successful flow test on the Mahogany-2 appraisal well, which is part of the Jubilee field offshore Ghana. In June this year the Lower Mahogany reservoir was successfully tested over a 17-meter interval. Following completion of this test, partners took the decision to perform a second flow test -- this time on the Upper Mahogany reservoir.

Jun. 2008 - Kosmos Energy announced that the company has secured an additional $500 million equity funding program led by Warburg Pincus and Blackstone Capital Partners (an affiliate of The Blackstone Group), two of the world's largest and most highly regarded private equity firms. The equity expands Kosmos' capital base and provides substantial financial resources for ongoing oil and gas exploration, appraisal and development activities in West Africa, including first-phase development of the Jubilee Field, the company's significant oil discovery offshore the Republic of Ghana. Warburg Pincus and Blackstone, as well as the Kosmos management team, previously committed $300 million to the company.

The Mahogany-2 well flowed at a test rate of 5,200 barrels per day of 36-degree API gravity crude oil and approximately 5.5 million cubic feet per day of associated natural gas from a single zone. The flow rate was limited by equipment and facilities.

May. 2008 - Tullow Oil announces that the Mahogany-2 well, which is being drilled to appraise the Jubilee field offshore Ghana, has intersected a significant column of light oil. Results of drilling, wireline logs and samples of reservoir fluid, indicate that Jubilee is a single continuous stratigraphic trap extending at least 11km to the Hyedua-1 discovery well in the adjacent Deepwater Tano license.
