| Job Summary:
The Lead Marine Systems Engineer will be responsible for performing independent engineering, conceptual, preliminary and detail design and analysis of a variety of marine systems for floating offshore production platforms. The Lead Marine Systems Engineer will be experienced at the advanced level, with a solid background in the marine or offshore oil and gas industries. As a strong team-player, the Lead Marine Systems Engineer will work within a multi-disciplinary and fast-growing Field Development and Deepwater Technology group, developing and applying innovative solutions to the world's most challenging offshore oil and gas development opportunities.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Lead and perform independent engineering for hull marine systems for large floating structures (e.g. semisubmersibles, TLPs, Spars and FPSOs) through all phases of a project including concept development, pre-FEED, FEED and execution.
• Coordinate and resolve all hull systems interfaces with various project stakeholders (e.g. topsides, subsea, construction, marine operations etc.)
• Provide specialist discipline input to the creation and development of UFDs, P&IDs, general arrangements, equipment specifications and other systems deliverables through all project phases (e.g. concept development, pre-FEED, FEED, execution).
• Identify, select, develop and apply current and new technologies relevant to concepts for ongoing projects
• Participate in third party reviews, HAZIDs, HAZOPs, FMEAs, audits, FATs, etc.
• Write and/or contribute to the development of technical documents, including bid packages, Bases of Design, Design Premises, technical notes, reports and presentations, Scopes of Work, specifications, inquiries/requisitions for material or equipment, and operations procedures.
• Feature and promote the capabilities and track record of the Front-End and Deepwater Technology team to potential clients in meetings, conferences and seminars
• Develop commissioning plans and procedures.
• Maintain current knowledge of technology developments in the areas of responsibility and industry standards (e.g. API, ABS, DNV) and USCG and BOEMRE regulations.
• Lead and manage internal and external contractors to ensure project objectives and design requirements are met.
• Ensure that all work meets company quality standards, project objectives and design requirements
• Ongoing participation in the development of corporate procedures, standards and practices, particularly with regard to lessons learned and HSE issues.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Minimum Bachelor's or Master's (preferred) degree in Marine Systems engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Naval Architecture, or similar degree.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience, including minimum 3 to 5 years experience as discipline lead for a project or within an engineering department.
• Knowledge in offshore engineering / fabrication / installation practices. Familiarity with USCG regulations and Industry Standards for systems engineering in the marine and offshore field.
• Ability to conceptualize and lead the development of engineering designs.
• Self-motivated team player, with good leadership, organizational and communication skills.
