| Partners Decide on Zidane Development Concept |
Date: Mar. 2013
Type: Development Activity |
| RWE and the partners in PL435 have made a decision regarding the development concept for the Zidane field. The concept chosen involves use of a 4-slot subsea template with 4 production wells tied back to the Heidrun TLP via a 9-mile insulated flowline. Additionally, a new gas treatment and export module will be installed on the TLP. Zidane is estimated to hold up to 776 Bcf of recoverable natural gas. |

| RWE Successfully Appraises Zidane |
Date: Apr. 2012
Type: Appraisal Operations |
| RWE Dea has found additional gas in the Zidane field in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea. The operator said the gas discovery increases the total value of the license with preliminary estimates of the size of the discovery ranging between 4 and 13 Bcm of recoverable gas. The well encountered gas in a 459 feet (140 meter) column in the Fangst group, and hydrocarbon-bearing rocks in the secondary objectives. The well was drilled to a total vertical depth of 14,875 feet (4,534 meters) below the sea surface and terminated in the Early Jurassic Tilje formation. Water depth of the site is 1,309 feet (399 meters). RWE Dea plans to analyze the well results and move into the next phase of field development. |

| RWE Dea Spuds Zidane-2 in North Sea |
Date: Jan. 2012
Type: Appraisal Operations |
| RWE Dea has commenced exploratory drilling on the Zidane-2 well at Production License 435 in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea. The target of this well is to explore more gas reserves in the license. The West Alpha (mid-water semisub) is drilling the well to a vertical depth of about 15,748 feet (4,800 meters) in a water depth of 1,309 feet (399 meters). Drilling operations are expected to last 81 days with the possibility of an extension pending discovery. |

| Noreco Divests Interests in PL 435 |
Date: Dec. 2011
Type: Acreage Acquisition |
| Norwegian Energy Company (Noreco) has completed the sale of its interest in license PL 435, containing the gas discovery Zidane-1, to OMV. Noreco is also under certain conditions entitled to an additional consideration if a discovery is made in the upcoming exploration well Zidane-2. The license contains the Zidane-1 gas discovery, which was made in 2010, and is estimated to contain between 5 and 18 Bcm of recoverable gas. |

| Noreco Sells Stake in Zidane Discovery |
Date: Nov. 2011
Type: Status Update |
| Norwegian Energy Company has entered into an agreement to sell its 20 percent stake in license PL 435 on Haltenbanken to OMV. The license contains the Zidane-1 gas discovery, which was made in 2010, and is estimated to contain between 5 and 18 Bcm of recoverable gas. A second exploratory well, Zidane-2, in the license is scheduled for drilling later this year. Under the agreement, Noreco is entitled to a volume-dependent consideration if a discovery on Zidane-2 proves commercially recoverable volumes of hydrocarbons beyond certain levels. This conditional amount is payable upon approval of a Plan for Development and Operations. The current interest holders are RWE Dea (operator, 40 percent), Noreco (20 percent), Wintershall Norge (20 percent), and Edison International (20 percent). |

| RWE Dea Finds Gas Near the Heidrun Field |
Date: Sep. 2010
Type: New Discovery |
| RWE Dea Norge AS made a gas discovery in exploratory well 6507/7-14S on the Zidane prospect. The well's primary objective, located in Production License 435, was to prove hydrocarbons in Middle Jurassic reservoir rocks in the Fangst group. The secondary objective was to prove hydrocarbons in Lower Jurassic reservoir rocks in the Tilje formation. Drilled to a vertical depth of 14,688 feet (4,477 meters), the well encountered gas in a 492-foot (150-meter) column in the Fangst group. Preliminary estimates of the size of the discovery range between 5 and 18 Bcm of recoverable gas. Data and sampling were gathered, and a drill stem test was produced. The well, the first drilled in PL 435, will now be plugged and abandoned. RWE Dea is the operator of PL 435, holding a 40% interest; Norwegian Energy Company (Noreco) holds 20%; Wintershall Norge holds 20%; and Edison International holds the remaining 20% interest. |
