Project Description
Paradise is located in the Deepwater Tano/Cape Three Points license, offshore Ghana, in a water depth of 6,038 feet (1,840 meters). Hess is operator of the discovery with a 55% interest in the license, with Statoil holding 35% and Ghana National Petroleum Corporation holding the remaining interest.

Discovered in 2011, Paradise-1 encountered 490 net feet (149 meters) of oil and gas condensate pay over three different intervals. Drilled by the Maersk Deliverer semisub, the well reached a total depth of 16,436 feet (5,010 meters).

Hess will evaluate the drilling results while working with GNPC to assess the find.

Statoil Enters Ghana Deepwater License
Type: Acreage Acquisition

Apr. 2012 - Statoil has farmed into the Deepwater Tano/Cape Three Points license offshore Ghana, which is operated by Hess. Two wells have already been drilled in the DWT/CTP license with a third well, Hickory North-1, underway. Results from this well are expected within the end of second quarter of this year. Hess operates the 518,921 acre (2,100 square kilometer) license with a 90 percent working interest and carries Ghana National Petroleum Corporations (GNPC) costs through the exploration phase. Statoil will assume a 35-percent working interest in the license with Hess retaining a 55 percent working interest and GNPC holding the remaining 10 percent carried interest.
