In a water depth of 374 feet (114 meters), Devenick's field development will consist of two wells, S1 and S2, connecting to a subsea manifold (with four slots including two for potential future production) tied-back via a 21 miles (34 kilometer) export pipeline to the East Brae platform.
Located on Block 16/03a, East Brae is an integrated platform, based on a 4-legged steel jacket, supporting drilling, production, utilities and accommodation facilities.
Gas condensate from the platform is exported via the Brae-Forties pipeline and Forties Pipeline System to the crude oil stabilization plant at Kinneil. Gas from the process is exported to shore via the ExxonMobil-operated Scottish Area Gas Evacuation (SAGE) system, and some gas is also re-injected into the East Brae reservoir to maximize liquid recovery.
With an estimated 20-year life span, first gas from the field is planned to commence in the second quarter of 2012.

BP Flips Switch at Devenick
Type: Production Start
Oct. 2012 - Production systems are up and running at BP's Devenick gas project in the central North Sea. The HPHT project is in the process of ramping up to full production - estimated to peak in 2013 at 100 million cubic feet per day. When producing at the maximum rate, Devenick will add an extra 3% to the UK's total gas production. BP and partner RWE Dea have invested $1 million in the project which has largely been serviced by UK based companies. Gas is routed from a subsea manifold through an insulated pipeline to the Marathon-operated East Brae platform. It is estimated that the field holds 430 billion cubic feet and will maintain production until 2025.

Technip will Engineer, Install Pipelines for Devenick Field
Type: Contract Award
Jul. 2010 - Technip was awarded an engineering and installation contract for the development of the Devenick field. The contract covers project management, engineering, fabrication, installation and commissioning of a 21 mile (33.5 kilometer) pipe-in-pipe production pipeline, with a 16-inch carrier pipeline, 3-inch piggyback methanol line and infield pipelines, and various flowlines and umbilicals. Work is scheduled for completion in 2011. The Devenick field, operated by BP, is a gas condensate reservoir located in UKCS Blocks 9/29a and 9/24b in the northern North Sea about 119 miles (192 kilometers) southeast of Shetland. Devenick lies in a water depth of 374 feet (114 meters).
