The Flyndre and Cawdor development is located about 180 miles (290 kilometers) southeast of Aberdeen, spanning Blocks 30/13c, 30/14 and1/5a. The fields are located in water depths of approximately 230 feet (70 meters). Maersk Oil operates the development.
The Flyndre field straddles three Blocks 30/13c and 30/14 in the UK sector of the North Sea and 1/5a in the Norwegian sector. The Cawdor field lies across two blocks, 30/13c and 30/14 both of which are in the UK sector.
Field Development

Field Development
Maersk Oil intends to develop the fields by drilling one well at Cawdor and utilizing the existing Flyndre appraisal well. The wells will be tied-back to the Talisman operated Clyde platform, situated about 16 miles (26 kilometers) east of the fields.
The operator plans to install pipelines, production and umbilical risers for the development in Q3 2012 to Q3 2013, with Flyndre coming online in Q3 2013. Maersk will then proceed to develop Cawdor's first phase of development in Q2 to Q3 2014, with first oil at Cawdor in Q4 2014. Based on production levels, a further two wells may be drilled at the Cawdor field at a later date (Phase II).
Production at both fields is expected to continue to the end of 2026.

ProServ to Provide Subsea Services for Flyndre/Cawdor Development

Aug. 2012 - Proserv has received a contract from Maersk Oil UK to provide electro-hydraulic multiplex subsea control systems along with its associated topside and subsea interface systems for the development of the Flyndre and Cawdor project. Maersk Oil is developing a 16-mile-long (25-kilometer-long) subsea tie-back to the Clyde platform, which the fields will connect to. The development is scheduled to commence production in 2013.

Noreco to Sell Stake in Flyndre Discovery

Aug. 2011 - Norwegian Energy Company has agreed to sell its share in the North Sea discovery, Flyndre, to Maersk Oil. The company will sell a 13.4% stake in the Norwegian part of the cross-border Flyndre for NOK 19 million. The Flyndre discovery is operated by Maersk Oil. The license also contains another finding that Noreco wants to carve out and retain under a new production license. Both agreements are subject to approval by the Norwegian authorities.
