Project Description
The Rhyl field lies in the east Irish North Sea on Block 113/27b in 89 feet (27 meters) of water. Centrica wholly owns and operates the field.

Rhyl is a gas field that was discovered in 2009. The operator submitted a drilling operations environmental statement to DECC for the field's development in January 2011.

Field Development

The Rhyl development will consist of a single production well connecting to the North Morecambe Drilling and Production Platform, located in Block 110/2, via a 8-mile-long (12.7-kilometer-long), 12 inch flexible export flowline and control umbilical.

Centrica Announces Start of Production at Rhyl
Type: Production Start

Apr. 2013 - Centirca announced the start of production from the Rhyl field 24 miles off the coast of Barrow in UK license P1483. Gas from Rhyl is produced from a subsea tieback through the Centrica-owned North Morecambe platform and is then sent by pipeline to the Barrow complex onshore for processing. Centrica is the sole interest holder in the license and expects the addition of Rhyl's production to carry its Morecambe Bay operation well beyond 2020. Recent appraisal drilling on the Rhyl reservoir confirmed it extends further than originally thought and served to increase 2P reserves to around 80 Bcf.
