Total Sees Success in Untested Ivory Coast Block
Apr 25, 2013 - Ivoire-1x, the first well to be drilled in Total's CI-100 block off the Ivory Coast, encountered 92 net feet of oil pay in a 328-foot series of Cretaceous reservoirs. The well was drilled to a depth of 16,548 feet by the Ocean Rig Olympia (UDW drillship). Results confirm the extension of the proven petroleum system in the deepwater Tano Basin into the CI-100 block. Data acquire while drilling will be used to develop an appraisal program to be carried out on the newly discovered reservoirs. Total, the operator, owns a 60% interest in the block alongside Yam's Petroleum LLC (25%) and Petroci Holding (15%).
