Lead Subsea Controls System Engineer
LEAD CONTROL SYSTEMS ENGINEER(Europe or Houston)
Responsibilities of Lead Control Systems Engineer
- Client's technical representative on control systems design (EPCI)
- Responsible for monitoring contractor compliance with design basis
- Responsible for monitoring contractor compliance with codes, standards
- Responsible for monitoring contractor compliance with QA/HSSE requirements
Duties
- Check contractor design reports and calculation sheets
- Check procurement data sheets for alignment with basis of design
- Review and advice on material and installation specifications (technical)
- Review design solutions, options, and advice on corrective actions
- Provide input control systems design, procurement construction and installation
- Review contractor functional specifications and scope of work
- Review and advice on site queries, clarifications, deviations, change requests
- Review and advice on concession requests and non-conformances
- Review supplier documentation (technical)
- Attend design reviews to ensure design in accordance codes, standards
- Attend and provide input to HAZOP, HAZID, Risk Reviews
- Support fabrication and testing requirements (as client representative)
- Support installation and commissioning activities (as client representative)
- Contribute to training and development of clientstaff
Decision Making Authority
Can make technical decisions only. Will also be required to provide technical input to commercial, quality assurance, and HSSE related decisions.
Supervisory Responsibility
May be responsible for less senior or less experienced engineers
Competencies/Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Competency/Knowledge
- Technically proficient in discipline - proven track record on similar projects
- Competent in use of relevant international codes and standards
- Competent in design of SCS Systems and testing
- Good knowledge with control system vendors and site work
- Competent in hydraulic, electrical power and communications analysis
- Competent / knowledge in use of relevant discipline software
- Good knowledge of Project execution and planning
- Knowledge in HSSE/QA protocols/procedures
- Spanish language knowledge desirable

- Good interfacing skills (focus on working with EPC contractors

Work Location
The primary work location is EPC Contractor offices (likely Houston and/or Europe). Frequent travel will be required. Travel offshore may be required.
Reporting Line
This position reports to the projectEngineering Manager.
Minimum Requirement
- Bachelor degree in engineering\ BSc Degree or equivalent
- 10 years of experience with control systems design
- 3 years of experience in similar position
