POSITION DESCRIPTION
As a Lead Subsea Systems Engineer, you will report to the manager of the Deepwater Subsea and Pipelines group within Granherne Americas. Employee will have day to day responsibility for consulting matters relating to deepwater subsea production system engineering and hardware including trees, manifolds, PLET's, PLEM's, jumpers, flying leads and associated equipment. Employee will perform all conventional aspects of the functional area subject matter, devise new approaches to problems, as well as plan, schedule, and conduct work requiring independent judgment. The primary emphasis will be on concept selection and specification of subsea systems for deepwater tiebacks and field developments. The position will also involve further development into related areas of expertise including cutting edge technologies such as subsea processing and boosting, HP/HT and ultra deep water. We'll look to the employee to provide technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers. Employee may be responsible for leadership of a functional area on a project or a segment of a larger project. Performed correctly the position will indirectly impact on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations. As the lead, employee will plan, budget, organize, coordinate and control the project and be responsible for coaching and developing lower level professionals

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or directly related Engineering degree required
  • Minimum of 7 years related Subsea Systems Engineer experience, with average experience ranging from 8-12 years; sufficient professional experience to ensure competence as a fully trained professional required
  • Previous experience interfacing with clients and other upstream engineering disciplines required
  • Work requires a broad knowledge of precedents; advanced techniques and modification and extension of theories, and practices of the field and related disciplines
  • Ability to write professional technical reports and prepare effective presentations required
  • Must have INTERMEDIATE MS Office skills in Word, EXCEL and PowerPoint
  • At this level, individuals will have demonstrated creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving engineering problems efficiently and economically
  • Must have the ability to interact with other team members effectively
  • Previous team lead or supervisory experience is highly preferred
  • Certification as a Licensed/Chartered Professional Engineer is preferred
