Job Description
|
Responsible for Marine analysis for projects, pre-FEED, and FEED studies related to turret & mooring systems based on Advanced Production and Loading (APL) technologies. General engineering support of related efforts in connection with broader Floating Production Solutions projects for Rig Solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Perform analysis of mooring and riser systems and vessel behavior
- Specify and follow up model tests, and perform model test calibration to validate numerical model
- Ensure analysis is conducted in accordance with all relevant procedures, rules, regulations, codes, standards, and specifications
- Verify design documents and prepare design briefs
- Report non-conformities and address via established Quality Assurance procedures
- Conduct technical discussions with clients and internal departments
- Perform other work related tasks as assigned
- Comply with all NOV Company and HSE procedures and policies
- Build and maintaining positive, professional business relationships with both internal and external departments and resources
- Assist in the overall effort for positive growth of the company

Desired Skills:
- Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Naval Architecture
- Two (2) year experience as a Marine Engineer in the oil & gas or oilfield services industry related to design, analysis, and delivery of mooring and riser systems, including marine hydrodynamics and dynamic analysis of floating structures.
- Must be able to multi-task between different projects and shifting priorities
- Good verbal and written communication skills
Basic Competency Requirements:
- Experience with software like RIFLEX, SIMO, ORCAFLEX and WAMIT is preferred.
