Project Description
Located in a water depth of 207 feet (63 meters), Rau is situated in License 7/06 in the Danish North Sea, about 165 miles (265 kilometers) west of Esbjerg. Altinex ASA serves as the operator, holding a 40% interest; RWE Dea holds 40%; and Nordsofonden holds the remaining 20% interest.

Drilled by the Noble George Sauvageau jackup, the Rau-1 exploration well encountered movable oil in Paleocene sandstone reservoirs. Additionally, three deviated sidetracks were drilled to appraise the lateral extent and size of the Rau oil accumulation. All sidetracks found oil, and confirmed the reservoir model and the extent of the Rau oil accumulation.

Altinex Finds Oil with Rau-1
Type: New Discovery

May. 2007 - The Rau-1 exploration well was drilled with the jackup Noble George Sauvageau as a vertical hole to 2,571 m and encountered movable oil in Paleocene sandstone reservoirs. Additionally, three deviated sidetracks were drilled to appraise the lateral extent and size of the Rau oil accumulation. All sidetracks found oil and confirmed the reservoir model and the extent of the Rau oil accumulation.

Altinex Spuds Rau-1 Offshore Denmark
Type: Status Update

Apr. 2007 - Altinex Oil on Sunday spudded the Rau-1 well in the Danish offshore License 7/06, 265 km west of Esbjerg with the drilling unit Noble George Sauvageau. The Rau-1 well is the first well that Altinex is drilling as an operator in the Danish North Sea. It is also the first well to be drilled on a license awarded in the Danish 6th round in May 2006.
