OIL & GAS FIELD
Field Name Natal Discovery Date Aug 2010
Block BM-S-59 Reserve Type Oil
Current
Status
Discovery (Appraised) Production Start
Water Depth 170 m / 561 ft

Description

The Natal field, located in the BM-S-59 block, is situated in 558 feet (170 meters) of water in the Santos Basin. OGX wholly owns and operates the block.

Gas and condensate was discovered in well 1-OGX-11D-SPS, encountering an oil column of about 138 feet (42 meters) net pay of roughly 112 feet (34 meters) in sandstone reservoirs in the Santonian section, with high porosity and consistent hydrocarbon shows.

The operator is currently appraising the find.

OGX Confirms Additional Light Oil in Santos Basin
Date: Apr. 2012
Type: Appraisal Operations
OGX reported that well 3-OGX-74-SPS, the first extension well of the Natal accumulation (1-OGX-11D-SPS), demonstrated the continuity of the sandstone reservoirs of the Santonian age. OGX verified the presence of light oil of 38 degree API, while well OGX-11D had previously confirmed the presence of gas and condensate. OGX-74 was drilled to a depth of 14,564 feet (4,439 meters) and, together with wildcat wells, OGX-11D and OGX-47, will be part of a Discovery Evaluation Plan which will appraise the sandstones of the Santonian age accumulations in Block BM-S-59.
OGX Concludes Drill-Stem Test in Natal well
Date: Oct. 2011
Type: Status Update
OGX has concluded a drill-stem test in well 1-OGX-11D-SPS on the Natal field in the BM-S-59 block in the shallow waters of the Santos Basin, offshore Brazil. The drill-stem test confirmed the presence of gas and the existence of condensate of about 47 degree API that should be responsible for more than 20% of the hydrocarbon volume of this structure, stated the operator. Test results indicate production capacity of 1 MMcm/d and 1,200 barrels per day of condensate in a vertical well, which could reach up to 5 MMcm/d of natural gas and 6,000 barrels of condensate through a horizontal well. Natal is located in a water depth of 591 feet (180 meters). OGX wholly owns and operates the block.
OGX Hits Pay in Natal Prospect
Date: May. 2010
Type: Drilling Operations
OGX found gas and condensate in well 1-OGX-11D-SPS on the Natal prospect in the shallow waters of the Santos Basin. Thus far, an oil column of about 138 feet (42 meters) with net pay of roughly 112 feet (34 meters) was encountered in sandstone reservoirs in the Santonian section, with high porosity and consistent hydrocarbon shows. Drilling is still in progress by the Ocean Quest semisub, and the well will be drilled to a final depth of up to 20,013 feet (6,100 meters) aiming at additional objectives. The well, the OGX-11D, is situated about 65 miles (104 kilometers) off the coast in the BM-S-59 block in waters measuring 558 feet (170 meters). OGX wholly owns and operates the block.
