Field Development
On Nov. 18, 2010, the Department for Energy and Climate Change approved Huntington’s field development plan. The plan is to produce the Huntington field from the Sevan Voyageur FPSO with three to four production wells and one to two water injectors.
For the subsea equipment, the operator awarded Xodus Group a five-year open tender for the detailed design of the Huntington development. The work entails flexible risers, umbilicals, flexible and rigid pipelines, two subsea structures and comprehensive flow assurance engineering. The operator then awarded Subsea 7 an engineering and installation contract for the equipment. Work includes the installation of 7 miles (12 kilometers) of an 8-inch gas export pipeline, installation of infield flexible flowlines, main static umbilical and associated risers, as well as installation of subsea structures followed by tie-ins, pre-commissioning and system testing.
In October 2010, E.ON Ruhrgas signed a charter party contract for the Sevan Voyageur FPSO. The operator plans to install the vessel on the field in the fourth quarter of 2011.
The production facilities will have a production capacity of 30,000 barrels of oil per day.
Produced oil will be stored in the FPSO's integrated tanks before it is shipped to the market with shuttle tankers, while natural gas will be exported via pipeline.
First oil from the project is currently targeted for second quarter 2012.
