Project Description
Located in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico, the Gomez project consists of one field, Gomez, and three satellite fields, Anduin, Anduin West and Gladden. The four fields are tied-back to the ATP Innovator platform.

Gomez Field

Located on Mississippi Canyon Block 711, the Gomez field is situated in 3,000 feet (914 meters) of water in the Outer Continental Shelf of the Gulf of Mexico. Wholly owned and operated by ATP Oil and Gas, Gomez was acquired by the company in 2003.

In 1997, Union Pacific Resources drilled the Gomez discovery well, No.4 ST1; three years later a sidetrack well encountered 125 feet (38 meters) of oil and gas pay in a Lower Pliocene sand interval, but the well was not tested. When ATP acquired ownership of the lease, the No. 4 ...

4 ST1 well was tested, and flowed at a rate of 13,610 bopd and 53 MMcf/d (1.5 MMcm/d).

Gomez contains an estimated 150 Bcf of proven and probable reserves.

Field Development

The Gomez field development consists of four subsea wells tied-back to the ATP Innovator platform, moored on Mississippi Canyon Block 711.

The Ocean Quest semisub developed the field during two phases. Under the first phase of the project, two wells came online, No. 4 ST1 and No. 6, which are located on the southern portion of the field. In Phase two of the project two additional wells, No. 5 and No. 7, came online from the northern portion of the project.

NKT Flexibles received a contract for the supply, design, test and the delivery of two dynamic risers -- a 6-inch-diameter oil export line and an 8-inch-diameter gas export line. Pegasus International provided the engineering and design for FEED, as well as the detailed design of the subsea wells, umbilicals, catenary risers, pipelines, the topside processing facilities, instruments, electrical, and controls.

ATP decided to convert a semisubmersible drilling rig, the Rowan Midland, into a floating production facility, the ATP Innovator, in order for the platform to process gas from the field's subsea wells. The facility is installed in 3,281 feet (1,000 meters) of water, and has the capacity to produce 20,000 bopd and 60 MMcf/d.

Oil and gas is transported via two, 28-mile-long (45-kilometer-long) pipelines to the sales point at Grand Isle 115.

Satellite Fields

Anduin

Anduin is located on Mississippi Canyon Block 755, in a water depth of 2,400 feet (732 meters). The field is wholly owned and operated by ATP Oil and Gas.

In 2005, the discovery well, MC 755 No. 2, encountered 48 feet (15 meters) of gross oil pay. When ATP acquired the lease in January 2007, the drilling rig encountered material logged hydrocarbons in both a down-dip and up-dip location. The field was developed as a subsea tie-back to the ATP Innovator.

The field has proven and probable reserves of 47 Bcf and commenced production in the fourth quarter of 2007.

Anduin West

The Anduin West field is located at Mississippi Canyon Block 754 in approximately 2,696 feet (822 meters) of water. Newfield owns a 50% working interest in Anduin West; ATP owns a 25% working interest; and LLOG Exploration owns the remaining 25% interest.

The discovery drilling of the Anduin West field encountered 30 feet (9 meters) of net gas and condensate pay. The well was completed by the Noble Max Smith semisub, and a production test was conducted in May 2008.

Development plans call for the field to be developed as a subsea tie-back to the ATP Innovator. The field commenced production in February 2011.

Gladden

Gladden is located on Mississippi Canyon Block 800, in a water depth of 3,116 feet (950 meters). Newfield serves as the operator and holds a 47.50% interest; Deep Gulf Energy holds 20%; Arena Exploration holds 12.50%; CL&F Resources holds 10%; and ATP Oil & Gas holds the remaining 10%.

The prospect was discovered in 2008 by Diamond Offshore's Ocean Quest, which found 80 feet (24 meters) of net oil pay. An up-dip location was drilled and completed in May 2008. Gladden was developed as a subsea tie-back to the ATP Innovator facility, and production commenced in the first quarter of 2011.

ATP First in Gulf to Install ADS-B Air Traffic Control System
Type: Status Update

Jul. 2009 - ATP announced that the ATP Innovator is the first Gulf of Mexico offshore platform to install an Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) system for air traffic control to and from platforms in the Gulf of Mexico. ATP partnered with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Surveillance and Broadcast Services Office, the Helicopter Association International (HAI), Gulf helicopter operators, and other offshore oil and gas companies to implement this new technology. ADS-B uses precise location data from the global satellite network to provide real-time, radar-like traffic information directly to ADS-B equipped aircraft, then transmitted to shore to the FAA and to air traffic controllers and other aircraft. In addition, the system will provide helicopter operators in the Gulf immediate access to updated weather information and other flight information services. The system on the ATP Innovator platform will be part of a larger network of systems which are set to go operational in December 2009.
