The Tupungato field is located in the BM-C-41 block in a water depth of 427 feet (130 meters), approximately 53 miles (85 kilometers) off the coast of Rio de Janeiro. OGX wholly owns and operates the block.
OGX found hydrocarbons in two sections of well 1-OGX-20-RJS in the shallow waters of the Campos Basin. First, hydrocarbons were identified in two different levels in sandstone reservoirs in the Maastrichtian section of the OGX-20 well with a net pay of nearly 30 and 13 feet (9 and 4 meters), respectively. Then drilling continued to the Albian section, where an oil column of about 262 feet (80 meters) with nearly 164 feet (50 meters) of net pay was encountered in carbonate reservoirs.

OGX Encounters Additional Hydrocarbons in Tupungato Prospect
Type: Status Update
Oct. 2010 - OGX encountered hydrocarbons in the Aptian section of well 1-OGX-20-RJS on the Tupungato prospect, located in the shallow waters of the Campos Basin. Following the recently announced discoveries in the Maastrichtian and Albian sections of the well, drilling continued to the Aptian section, where an oil column of nearly 420 feet (128 meters) with about 138 feet (42 meters) of net pay was encountered in carbonate reservoirs. Drilling is still in progress by the Ocean Ambassador semisub, and the well is expected to reach a depth of approximately 13,123 feet (4,000 meters). OGX-20 is located in the BM-C-41 block, about 53 miles (85 kilometers) off the coast of Rio de Janeiro in a water depth of 427 feet (130 meters).

OGX Strikes Oil in Tupungato Prospect
Type: Drilling Operations
Oct. 2010 - OGX has found hydrocarbons in the Albian section of well 1-OGX-20-RJS in the shallow waters of the Campos Basin. Following the recently announced discovery in the Maastrichtian section of the well, drilling continued to the Albian section, where an oil column of about 262 feet (80 meters) with nearly 164 feet (50 meters) of net pay was encountered in carbonate reservoirs. Drilling is continuing in this section to determine the total column and net pay. The OGX-20 well is expected to hit a final depth of nearly 11,975 feet (3,650 meters). Situated about 53 miles (85 kilometers) off the coast of Rio de Janeiro at a water depth of 427 feet (130 meters), the OGX-20 well on the Tupungato prospect is located in the BM-C-41 block. The Ocean Ambassador semisub is drilling the well.

OGX Discovers Hydrocarbons in OGX-20 Well
Type: Drilling Operations
Sep. 2010 - OGX has identified the presence of hydrocarbons in the Maastrichtian section of well 1-OGX-20-RJS on the Tupungato prospect. Hydrocarbons were identified in two different levels in sandstone reservoirs in the Maastrichtian section of the OGX-20 well with a net pay of nearly 30 and 13 feet (9 and 4 meters), respectively. Drilling of the well by the Ocean Ambassador semisub will continue until an estimated final depth of 11,975 feet (3,650 meters) is reached. The OGX-20 well is located in the BM-C-41 block in a water depth of 427 feet (130 meters), approximately 53 miles (85 kilometers) off the coast of Rio de Janeiro. OGX wholly owns and operates the block.
