The Skalle prospect is located on Block 7120/2 in Production License 438 in the North Sea. Lundin Petroleum operates the prospect, holding a 25% interest; RWE Dea holds 20%; Petoro holds 20%; Spring Energy holds 17.5%; Talisman Energy holds the remaining 17.5% interest.
In June 2011, the operator found gas in completed well 7120/2-3S on the Skalle prospect. Drilled by the Transocean Leader semisub, the well was designed to determine hydrocarbons in reservoir rocks from both the Cretaceous and the Jurassic age.
Gas was proven in three separate zones. The initial gross contingent resource range for the Skalle discovery is estimated at between 88 to 280 Bcf (15 to 50 MMboe).

Lundin to Appraise Well in PL 490
Type: Drilling Operations
Jul. 2012 - Lundin has received consent to conduct appraisal drilling on Production License 490. A possible sidetrack (7120/6-3 A) may also be drilled. The Transocean Arctic (mid-water semisub) will conduct drilling operations in a water depth of 1,073 feet (327 meters). Drilling activities are estimated to last a total of 133 days, including the possible sidetrack well.

Lundin Finds Gas in Barents Sea
Type: New Discovery
Jul. 2011 - Lundin Petroleum has discovered gas in completed well 7120/2-3S on the Skalle prospect. Lundin believes there is potential for a deeper oil leg in the lower Cretaceous reservoir of Skalle and upside potential in Skalle substructures. The results will be further analyzed to determine the appraisal program for the discovery.

Lundin Spuds Skalle Prospect
Type: Drilling Operations
May. 2011 - Lundin Petroleum has commenced exploratory drilling of well 7120/2-3 on the Skalle prospect in PL 438. The main objective of the well is to test Cretaceous and Jurassic/Triassic age sandstones of a multiple target structure. The planned total depth of the well is 8,694 feet (2,650 meters) and it is being drilled by the Transocean Leader semisub. Drilling is expected to take about 60 days. Lundin Petroleum operates the prospect, holding a 25% interest; RWE Dea holds 20%; Petoro holds 20%; Spring Energy holds 17.5%; Talisman Energy holds the remaining 17.5% interest.
