Project Description
The Myra permit is located 25 miles (40 kilometers) off the coast of Netanya, Israel, in the Mediterranean Sea. GeoGlobal Resources operates the license with a 5 percent stake.

The operator is slated to begin exploration drilling in the permit by the end of June 2012 using the Noble Homer Ferrington (DW semisub).

Myra-1 Fails to Deliver
Type: Operator Update

Sep. 2012 - The Myra 1 well's partners have notified the TASE that no substantial signs of petroleum have been found. They said that well operator GeoGlobal Resources (India) Ltd. reached the final target strata at a depth of 17,600 feet and that LWD data indicated that the high-quality sands at the Miocene-era strata were saturated with water.

Aug. 2011 - GeoGlobal Resources is slated to begin exploratory drilling offshore Israel by year-end, reported RigLogix. The company will use the Noble Homer Ferrington semisub to conduct drilling operations in the Myra and Sara Licenses. The two licenses, compromising the Offshore Israel Project, span about 198,400 acres (310 square miles), and are situated in the Levantine Basin near Noble's Tamar and Dalit natural gas discoveries.

Offshore Israel Project Partners Gather Seismic Data
Type: Status Update

Jul. 2010 - Bontan Corporation and partners in the Offshore Israel Project announced that the 3D seismic data covering the Sarah and Myra licenses was submitted to the Ministry of National Infrastructure as per the agreed work program. The first phase of the interpretation of the data should be completed and submitted to the MNI by Aug. 1, 2010. The two licenses, Sarah and Myra, compromising the Offshore Israel Project, span about 198,400 acres (310 square miles), and are situated in the Levantine Basin near Noble's Tamar and Dalit natural gas discoveries. Partners in the license consist of IPC Oil and Gas, Tel Aviv-based Emanuelle Energy, Modin Energy Partnership, Emanuelle Energy Oil & Gas, and four other entities including the operator, GeoGlobal Resources (India) Inc.

A preliminary two-dimensional geological survey carried out by Chapman Petroleum Ltd. in 2010 estimated there to be upwards of 6 to 7 trillion cubic feet of natural gas.
