Feb. 2013 - Chevron's subsidiary, Cabinda Gulf Oil Company Limited, announced plans to proceed with its Mafumeira Sul development off Angola. Mafumeira Sul is located 15 miles offshore in 200 feet of water and is the second development stage of the Mafumeira field. The scope of the project encompasses 50 wells, two wellhead platforms, a central processing and compression facility and roughly 75 miles of subsea pipeline. First oil is planned for 2015 with a daily production goal of 110,000 barrels of crude and 10,000 barrels of liquefied natural gas.

Jun. 2012 - Saipem has signed a new E&C offshore contract in West Africa for the development of the southern part of the Mafumeira field within Block 0. The contract has been awarded by CABGOC (Cabinda Gulf Oil Company Ltd), wholly owned by Chevron. The Mafumeira Sul EPCI 3 scope of work is for the engineering, procurement and pre-fabrication activities for subsequent offshore modifications and tie-in activities on the existing Mafumeira Norte platform and the future Mafumeira Sul production platforms. Mafumeira Sul EPCI 4 comprises the engineering, procurement, fabrication and installation of an onshore pipeline portion connecting the field to the oil storage and export facilities in the Malongo Terminal. The marine activities will be carried out in different time frames between the fourth quarter of 2013 and the second quarter of 2015.

May. 2010 - AMEC was selected by Chevron subsidiary Cabinda Gulf Oil Company Ltd. to perform a FEED for a portion of the Mafumeira Sul development. The contract will run until mid-2011. Mafumeira Sul's development will include a central production complex consisting of three platforms, two bridges and a flare tower; oil and LPG will be exported to the Malongo Oil Terminal and the Sanha FPSO, respectively. Located on the Mafumeira field on Block O in waters measuring from 150 to 160 feet (46 to 49 meters), the project will provide for future development of additional fields in the Southern Malongo area.

Jul. 2009 - Cabinda Gulf Oil Company Limited and its partners commenced crude oil production ahead of schedule from the Mafumeira Norte project located offshore Angola. Located in 160 feet (49 meters) of water about 15 miles (24 kilometers) off the Angolan coastline, the Mafumeira Norte project is the first phase development of the Mafumeira field located in Area A of Block 0. The project is being commercialized through 14 wells to the existing Kungulo water injection platform and is expected to reach maximum total production of 30,000 barrels of crude oil and 30 million cubic feet per day of natural gas in 2011.
