Project Description
The Bardolino satellite field is located on Blocks 22/11, 22/12 and 22/13 in the UK sector of the North Sea, situated 118 miles (190 kilometers) east of Peterhead and 25 miles (40 kilometers) west of the Netherelands. Lying in 302 feet (92 meters) of water, the oil and gas field is operated by Shell, holding a 62% interest; OMV UK holds a 38% interest.

Discovered in 1988, Bardolino was discovered by exploration well 22/13a-1, and then appraised by two wells, 22/13a-2 and 22/13a-4 in 1989. With a life expectancy of 11 years, the field's reservoir consists of Fulmar and Hugin sands.

Field Development

Field development of the Bardolino field consists of a single well tied-back to the Howe subsea manifold on Block 22/12. A 1-mile (2-kilometer), 6-inch production pipeline, and a separate electro hydraulic and chemical control umbilical were installed between Bardolino and Howe. From there, the field was then connected to the Nelson platform on Block 22/11.

Oil is exported from the Nelson Platform by pipeline to the nearby BP Unity platform and then by the Forties pipeline to shore. Gas is exported via the Fulmar gas pipeline to the St. Fergus gas terminal.

Bardolino commenced production on Oct. 14, 2010. It is anticipated the production capacity will average 4,500 boep/d.
