Project Description
Cua Lo is a large stacked channel and fan sand prospect. AVO anomalies suggest the presence of gas which could be volumetrically significant.

Block 105-110/04 ("Block 105") is located in the central Song Hong Basin and covers an area of some 7,192 Sq Km in water depths of 20 to 80 metres. Although there are a number discoveries nearby within the same sedimentary basin, Block 105 has seen very little exploration activity, with no wells drilled to date.

Cua Lo DST Results Disappoint Block 105 Interest Holders
Type: Operator Update

Jan. 2014 - Neon Energy, a junior partner in Block 105 offshore Vietnam, announced the completion of testing at the recently drilled Cua Lo-1 well. The 5-day test was carried out across a sandstone interval between 7,864 and 7,988 feet measured depth. A flow rate of 400,000 scfd was reached through a 16/64" choke. Poor deliverability and high carbon dioxide content suggest it is unlikely that the reservoir is sufficiently developed at the location. Cua Lo-1 was able to prove the presence of a petroleum system in Block 105 and the data obtained will be incorporated into the existing subsurface interpretation to determine if further exploration in the block is warranted. Block 105 interest holders include Eni (50%) serving as operator, Neon Energy (25%) and KrisEnergy (25%).

Neon Announces Gas Discovery at Cua Lo
Type: New Discovery

Dec. 2013 - Neon Energy announced a potentially significant gas discovery at the Cua Lo prospect in Block 105 offshore Vietnam. Well Cua Lo-1 ST1 reached a measured depth of 9,406 feet and encountered 4 gas-bearing zones over a gross interval of almost 500 feet. A fifth gas-bearing zone was also encountered but exhibited poor quality reservoir. Gas resources are thought to be within the range of pre-drill estimates of 3.9 Tcf. The Block 105 joint venture has agreed to carry out a production test to determine reservoir deliverability and gas composition.

Gas Shows Seen at Cua Lo
Type: Drilling Operations

Sep. 2013 - Neon Energy revealed the presence of gas in the Cua Lo-1 exploration well in Block 105 in the Song Hong Basin offshore Vietnam. Gas shows were encountered in each of the upper 3 objectives while drilling the 12 3/4" hole. The well had to be sidetracked after an over-pressured gas-bearing formation was drilled into at 8,425 feet. Casing will be set in the sidetrack well just above the over-pressured zone prior to drilling ahead to the deeper objectives. A decision regarding production testing will be made once total depth has been reached and logging data has been analyzed.

Cua Lo Wildcat Spuds Off Vietnam
Type: Drilling Operations

Aug. 2013 - Drilling of the Cua Lo-1 exploration well is underway at Block 105-110/04 offshore Vietnam. The Ensco 107 (400' ILC) spud the well Aug. 11 in 249 feet of water. Cua Lo consists of five clastic reservoirs ranging in age from Lower Pliocene to Upper Miocene. Drilling operations are expected to continue for roughly 42 days. Eni (50%) operates the block on behalf of its partners Neon Energy (25%) and KrisEnergy (25%).

Ensco 107 Mobs to Drill Cua Lo Prospect
Type: Drilling Operations

Jul. 2013 - Neon Energy, 25% partner in Block 105 off Vietnam, advised the Ensco 107 (400' ILC) is en route to the block to explore the Cua Lo prospect. The rig should arrive on location in late July or early August. Block 105 is located in the Song Hong Basin which has been home to a number of discoveries but to date, no wells have been drilled within the block. The well will test five clastic reservoir targets ranging in age from Lower Pliocene to Upper Miocene. Best estimate gross unrisked prospective recoverable resources have been estimated at 3.9 Tcf. Neon's partners in the block include Eni (50%) as operator and KrisEnergy (25%).

Ensco Jackup to Drill Cua Lo Prospect off Vietnam
Type: Contract Award

May. 2013 - The Ensco 107 (400' ILC) is expected to drill an exploration well targeting the Cua Lo prospect in Block 105 off Vietnam in June 2013. Participants in the block include Eni (50%) serving as operator, Neon Energy (25%) and KrisEnergy (25%). Interpretation of 3D seismic over the area is ongoing and the joint venture is attempting to finalize the drilling location to maximize the exposure of multiple potential pay zones. A Prospective Resource Assessment of the block has confirmed best estimate gross unrisked prospective recoverable resources of 3.9 Tcf.

Eni Acquires Interest in Two Vietnamese Blocks
Type: Operator Update

Jan. 2013 - PetroVietnam and the Vietnamese government approved Neon Energy's farm-out of two offshore blocks to Eni. Based on the agreement, Neon and KrisEnergy will each give up 25 percent interest in block 120 and block 105-110/04. Eni will assume operator status and carry both companies' shares of a 406 square-mile 3D survey as well as one exploration well on each block. The joint venture is currently looking for a jackup and semisub to carry out a drilling program that is expected to start near the middle of this year.

Neon Completes Seismic Acquisition Offshore Vietnam
Type: Operator Update

Jun. 2010 - Neon Energy completed 2D seismic acquisition operations in Block 120 and 105-110/04, located in the central Song Hong Basin offshore Vietnam in water depths ranging from 66 to 3,609 feet (20 to 1,100 meters). More than 945, 672 acres (3,827 square kilometers) of seismic data was gathered, and early indications show a significant improvement in seismic data quality, compared to the vintage data from 1993. Processing and interpretation of the new data is expected for completion by year-end, with a view to ranking prospects for drilling consideration shortly after. Neon Energy serves as operator of both blocks.
