Department: PGS Commercialization
Location: Austin, TX
Reports To: Project Manager / Operations Manager Subsea Installations
Position Summary:
The Subsea / Marine Installation Engineer will be a central part of the Subsea / Marine engineering team responsible for designing components for assigned projects.
Main Job Responsibilities:- Work with subcontractors to design, build and supply components for subsea equipment (umbilicals, wet-mates connectors, fiber optic distribution hubs, etc.).
- Coordinate with field project managers, subsea installers, and the Opto-Mechanical group in the deployment of marine installations.
- Identify, specify and manage equipment interfaces.
- Coordinate field test procedures and equipment
- Ensure installation procedures are followed, enable successful projects, and learn from continuous improvement.
- Assist management team in creating and winning follow-on projects.
Minimum Job Requirements:- B. S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience in technical marine/mechanical skills in design or operations.
- Hands-on experience including technical and project management in marine installations for cables, pipelines or subsea systems.
- Prefer deepwater experience and/or Brazil experience.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:- Be able to create and improve life of field services offering.
- Candidates need to be customer service oriented, strive for HSEQ excellence, pay attention to detail, be flexible and willing to do what is needed, work well with multiple teams, and have good communication skills with clients and internally.
- Fiber optic experience preferred.
