Aug 31, 2010 - Aker Solutions received a US $19 (NOK 120) million contract for Marulk's tie-in to the Norne FPSO. The scope of the project is to facilitate the Norne FPSO for installation and start-up of the Marulk template, which is based on a FEED study performed by Aker Solutions. A new flowline will be installed for the production and test manifold in order to accommodate a tie-back of Marulk to Norne. The tie-in is an amendment to an existing modifications contract Aker has with Statoil for the Norne project. Work will commence immediately and the project is scheduled for completion in March 2012. The gas field is situated on Blocks 6507/2, 6507/3, 6607/12 and 6607/11 in a water depth of 1,250 feet (381 meters). Eni holds a 20% operating interest in Marulk; Statoil holds 50%; and DONG holds the remaining 30% interest.

Associated Project:
Jordbaer
Aug 25, 2010 - Wood Group Kenny was awarded a Front End Engineering Design and related project management support activities for the Jordbaer field development. The field's proposed development calls for a stand-alone FPSO with two drill centers in a water depth of about 1,345 feet (410 meters). Gas will be exported from the FPSO to an existing export pipeline system. The work includes the delivery of an approved design package for in field and export pipeline, control systems, risers and umbilicals, as well as budget and schedule estimates to support BG Group's plan for field development and operation. Located in the northern segment of the Norwegian North Sea, the Jordbaer field is situated on Production License 373 S in an extension of the Tampen Spur area, approximately 28 miles (45 kilometers) northeast of the Snorre field.

Technip to Construct Dunlin Fuel Gas Pipeline
Aug 12, 2010 - Fairfield Energy awarded a contract to Technip for the provision of Subsea Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation (EPCI) services for the Dunlin Fuel Gas pipeline project. The construction of this gas import pipeline will allow the Dunlin platform to become fully self sufficient in fuel gas, leading to a much improved power generation capability, stated Fairfield. The project entails Dunlin being connected to a long-term fuel gas supply via the Thistle-Don pipeline, currently operated by EnQuest PLC. This will result in improved volumes of reservoir water injection in order to further increase the oil production from three fields: Dunlin, Osprey, and Merlin. Dunlin is located on Blocks 211/23a and 211/24a in the UK sector of the North Sea.
