Project Description
The undeveloped Blythe gas field straddles Blocks 48/22b and 48/23a in the UK sector of the North Sea in a water depth of 76 feet (23 meters). Alpha Petroleum Resources Ltd. operates the field, holding a 50% interest; Independent Oil & Gas holds the remaining interest.

Blythe was discovered in 1966. Gas is contained in a Rotliegend sandstone interval at a subsurface depth of 7,200 ft (2,194 m).

Blythe FDP Remains on Track
Type: Operator Update

Mar. 2015 - Blythe partner, Independent Oil & Gas, says the FDP remains on track for submission by September 2015. Development of Blythe will be via a single horizontal tri-lateral well. First gas is targeted for early 2017. 3P reserves for Blythe are estimated at 47.5 Bcf. Partners are Alpha Petroleum Resources Ltd as operator with 50 percent and Independent Oil & Gas with the remaining 50 percent. Blythe is located in the UK North Sea in block 48/22.

ATP Acquires Interests in Blythe Gas Field

Aug. 2010 - In July 2010, ATP Oil & Gas (UK) Limited received an award in the U.K. 25th Oil & Gas Licensing Round from the Department of Energy and Climate Change. ATP will receive a 50% working interest and will serve as operator of the undeveloped Blythe gas discovery, located in Blocks 48/22b and 48/23a. The remaining 50% interest is assigned to Ebor Energy Ltd. Discovered in 1966, Blythe is in a Rotliegend sandstone interval at a depth of 7,200 feet (2,195 meters) in 76 feet (23 meters) of water.
