Aug 16, 2010 - Chevron has hit gas pay in the Acme-1 well in the WA-205-P permit area offshore Western Australia, about 93 miles (150 kilometers) from Onslow. Drilled in 2,880 feet (878 meters) of water to a depth of 15,469 feet (4,715 meters), the well encountered about 896 feet (273 meters) of net gas pay. This is Chevron's ninth and biggest gas find in WA waters in the past year. The permit area is operated by Chevron, holding a 67% interest; Shell holds the remaining interest.

Aug 16, 2010 - Woodside Petroleum hit pay in the Alaric-1 well when it intersected around 607 feet (185 meters) of gas over several zones within the Triassic target. The operator is still deepening the well to penetrate the full column, suggesting the discovery could be larger. Wireline logging will be performed to obtain gas samples. The Maersk Discoverer is drilling the well in 6,430 feet (1,960 meters) of water in permit WA-434-P off Western Australia.

Aug 12, 2010 - Chevron found natural gas in the Brederode-1 well the Exmouth Plateau area of the Carnarvon Basin offshore Western Australia. The well was drilled to a total depth of 9,022 feet (2,750 meters), encountering about 49 feet (15 meters) of net gas pay. Situated in 4,550 feet (1,387 meters) of water, Brederode is located in WA-364-P, which is operated by Chevron, holding a 50% interest. Shell partners on the field, holding a 50% interest.
