Job Description
|
Would Report To: Manager of Subsea & Pipeline Technology - MCS Kenny, Houston
The Advanced Pipeline Specialist will have a high level of engineering responsibility within the Pipeline Engineering Analysis Group, regarding all technical and engineering aspects of the work. The Advanced Pipeline Specialist will be required to participate within a wide range of MCS Kenny subsea pipeline design/analysis projects. Including being involved in a number of pipeline and analysis related projects. The Advanced Engineering Specialist will proactively participate within the Group to advance the capabilities of MCS Kenny.
The pipeline design projects will include the design of subsea flowlines and components for the oil and gas industry. The main duties will include, and not be limited to the following:
- Provide professional and detailed engineering services and consultancy to the customers internal and external to MCS Kenny, using advanced numerical tools.
- Perform advanced numerical finite element analysis (FEA) using ABAQUS and other packages for various pipeline system designs. The FEA work include modeling subsea pipeline as its components, such as bulkheads, flanges, tees and wyepieces, using solid modeling techniques with ABAQUS finite element analysis.
- Work as leading analysis engineer to support various projects using analysis tools;
- Cooperate with other experts within MCS, JP Kenny, Inc, and Wood Group world wide to solve all technical related issues to pipeline design and analysis.
- Develop MCS Kenny, Inc analysis template tools to facilitate the fast numerical analysis in subsea pipeline design.
- Publish conference or journal papers to both promote the reputation of MCS, Inc in the oil and gas industry and advance the industry forward.
- Support the Project Manager in the preparation of reports on the progress of the project.
- Support the Project Manager in motivating the project team towards successful achievement of specified project goals.
- Recommend potential work by closing any technical gaps identified from the current design efforts or providing cost effective solutions for the pipeline design system.
Travel Requirements: (%) less than 5% Compensation Range: TBD
Work Experience Requirements (Include the MUST HAVE):
- Must have 5 years of ABAQUS solid modeling experience. Offshore experience is plus
Min Education Level: MSc Degree Disciplining: Mechanical or civil engineering
Certs: PE is preferred. |
